Cleaning House

Today, although I know it's technically a little late, I did spring cleaning for all of my magical supplies and implements.  Everything is now out on my counter top:  the things that can simply be washed mundanely have been, the things that need "special" cleaning are gathered and waiting for that to happen, and my stock of incense and oils has been noted and the list is made of what I need.

It feels good, clearing the cobwebs and dust off - both literally and figuratively - of these things.  And now that I've been "practicing" for a few years now, my items have a history and I have a deep love for them.  They are much like old friends.

I'm curious, though, as to how others "clean" their special implements.  Do you, gentle readers, have any tips and tricks for cleaning your crystals, for example?  Or what ritual do you like to use to consecrate or re-consecrate your tools.  I would love to hear from you on this.

Hope everyone is having a great day...

  1. I use moon water (water that is left outside on on the windowsill during the full moon) to wash some crystals, but the ones that are delicate I smudge, usually with sage. If I am washing cloths in the washer, I will wash them separately and add a little salt to the water. Hanging fabric out to dry in the sun if possible gives them an added charge. Most of my other magical items I cleanse with the smoke of burning cleansing herbs. After cleaning I like to recharge items by placing them in a window during the full moon, so I tend to time my cleansing around that time too! Hope this helps with your spring cleaning!
